Position Open on Lamar School Board

Lamar School District RE-2 is currently soliciting applicants for the Director District F vacancy. This vacancy has occurred due to the movement of Constance Brase out of Director District F. The new Board Member would serve until the next regular School Board election in November, 2011 at which time they could choose to run for election to remain on the School Board.

The precise description of Director District F is located on the Lamar School District website (Policy AA-E) or at the Alfred R. Young Administration Building at 210 West Pearl Street.

Candidates for this position must be a resident of Director District F, must have been a resident of the school district and a registered voter, as shown on the books of the county clerk and recorder, for at least 12 consecutive months, must be at least 18 years of age, and must be a citizen of the United States. In addition, no person who has been convicted of, pled guilty or nolo contendere to, or received a deferred judgment or sentence for commission of a sexual offense against a child is eligible to serve on a school district board of education.

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest to the Lamar School District RE-2 Board of Education, 210 West Pearl St., Lamar, CO 81052 no later than April 20, 2011. The Board of Education will appoint someone to fill this position at the regular School Board meeting on May 9, 2011.
