February 2011 Unemployment Figures for Colorado

The state Labor and Employment Board released the most recent numbers for employment in Colorado. As of February, Colorado had 2,670,939 eligible workers with 259,400 unemployed. That number rose for last month to 263,646 for January and was lower last February at this time with 253,381 for February, 2010.

The percentages for counties in southeast Colorado are listed:

San Juan and Dolores counties had unemployment rates of 19.9 and 19% respectively, with a workforce of fewer than 900 persons in each county. Saguache had an unemployment rate of 13.9 and Montrose and Huerfano posted unemployment rates at 13%.
