Police Update on Enchanted Forest Shooting

On August 1st at approximately 02:37 am the Lamar Police Department responded to the report of shots fired in the 100 block of East Beech Street.

Upon arrival officers found Ricki Harris, age 46, of Lamar to be injured and bleeding from the neck.  According to statements given at the scene, Mr. Harris and Alvin Oller, age 48, of Lamar were walking on the north side of the tracks when they were fired upon by William A. Gregor, age 55, of Lamar.  Gregor is reported to have fired shots from a semi-automatic hand gun at Harris and Oller, with one bullet striking Mr. Harris in the neck.

Lamar Fire and Ambulance were called to the scene and they transported Mr. Harris to the Prowers Medical Center for treatment.

The Lamar Police Department initiated an investigation of the incident.  A search warrant was issued and served for a residence in the 600 block of East Oak Street.  Gregor was taken into custody at that location and transported to the Prowers County jail.  He is charged with Criminal Attempt 2nd Degree Murder and is currently being held with no bond.
