Heroin Confiscated in Lamar Drug Bust, Five Arrested

On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at approximately 5:00 PM, officers from the Lamar Police Department executed a search warrant at 310 North 9^th Street in Lamar after an investigation into the distribution of narcotics.

Approximately 5.6 grams of heroin, approximately one pound of marijuana, and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia were located in the residence.  The street value of the heroin is approximately $3,700.00.

Several subjects were detained on the property and identified by officers.  Juan Zavala (30) of Lamar and Carie Hawkins (25) of Lamar were contacted in the residence both had active warrants for their arrests. 

Megan Downing (28) of Lamar was arrested for possession of a schedule II controlled substance and held on $4,000.00 bond. 

Cody Shoup (25) of Lamar was arrested for distribution of a controlled substance and held on a $50,000.00 bond. 

Alex Gustafson (33) of Lamar was arrested for possession of a schedule II controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance.  Gustafson is being held on $50,000.00 bond.
