The Prowers County Sheriff’s Department received 257 calls for service this past September.  Lamar generated 147 calls followed by 67 from the County, 30 from Holly and eight from Wiley.  Four criminal summonses were issued for the month.  Fifty-two of the Lamar calls were jail-related and 15 were for warrant arrests.  The County had 14 calls for traffic accidents and problems, six calls were animal related and two were for theft.  Holly had four traffic accident calls and three for disturbances. 

Two new cases were assigned to the investigations department and 20 cases were cleared in September.  Nine charges were filed and six investigations are still active. 

Bookings in the county jail totaled 78 for last month with 61 of those male.  There were 108 bookings in September 2012.  Four inmates were reported to immigration officials last month.  The average number of inmates per day was 49.   

Courthouse security made eight arrests in September and the daily average of visitors was 289 for a total of 5,789 for the month at the County Courthouse. 

The cost of inmate meals for September amounted to $10,391.37 and medical expenses came to $1,059.91.  Expenses for September were $147,229.93 and revenues totaled $39.456.95.
