Troop 2C of the Colorado State Patrol based in Lamar now has ample office space for the 18 officers and staff personnel in their new headquarters at the former Big R Warehouse on East Washington Street. The CSP held an open house on Wednesday, July 17, for the public and for fellow officers from various law enforcement departments in southeast Colorado who had been invited to view the new facilities.
The property is being rented from Prowers County Development Incorporated, and along with office space, some warehouse space will house patrol cars and other vehicles. For the past several years, the CSP Troop 2C used a three office building on West Parmenter in Lamar, which at times, could make for cramped conditions.
A brief tour of the new facilities shows a general conference room, storage space, a communications and office center and an office for almost every CSP patrol officer in the 2C district. The CSP patrol cars and vehicles can now be stationed indoors through the years and can provide security for any vehicles which may be impounded for investigation by the state patrol.
