There were 301 calls for service this past July to the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office with 159 from Lamar, 101 from the County, 26 from Holly and seven from Wiley and six from Granada.

Lamar had 27 warrant arrests served and 48 of the calls in July were jail related.  Thirty-seven were for restraining orders or serving calls.  The sheriff’s office responded to 22 traffic accidents and similar incidents in the county with five theft reports, three DUIs and sixteen 911 hang ups or false alarms.

Year to date, 728 people have been booked into the Prowers County Jail, of which 532 were male.  One hundred-nine persons were booked this past July, compared to 100 for July 2013.  Of those 79 were male this year and 69 for July of 2013.  The daily average number of inmates in July was 42 with the highest at 52 and lowest at 35.

There were 6,276 persons screened entering the Prowers County Courthouse in July for a daily average of 285.

Cost of inmate meals for July was $10,154.44 and medical expenses came to $1,220.68.  Total expenses for July were $156,280.87 and revenue was $74,544.06.
