Something Darn Big, This Way Comes

Lamar residents usually take large trucks and semi’s moving down Main Street in stride. But travelers on Highway 287 in Lamar may have noticed that a couple of the middle traffic lights are a little cock-eyed, like the ones at Savage and Main and Cedar and Main.
Whatever vehicle was traveling through Lamar on Sunday nailed at least two lights, twisting the one on Savage Avenue so it’s facing east, kinda. The next one, from what was undoubtedly a northbound truck, struck the next set of middle lights again, this time at Cedar and Main and pushed that one so it’s leaning to the right or east side of the grouping of three. There’s no specific problem for traffic control as the other two left and right lights are functioning properly. A call to the E911 dispatch center confirmed that they are aware of the problem and have contacted CDOT which will make the needed replacement or repairs.
It’s possible the driver of the tall truck noticed that something may have been wrong by the time they got to Main and Olive and adjusted accordingly. Although, if you look at that middle light, you just may see that it is a bit askew and the bottom protective cowling that encircles the green light is more tightly curved around the bottom on the left hand side.
