For those that don’t know me, my name is Ronald Manly. I was born and raised in Lamar by Harley and Darline Manly. My wife, Mary and I have been married for 37 years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
I have been involved in law enforcement since I was a teenager when I joined the Prowers County Jr. Sheriff’s Posse and later graduated to the Prowers County Sheriff’s Posse when I turned 21. I started my career with the Lamar Police Dept. in 1981 while continuing to serve as a special deputy for the Sheriff’s office. In August of 1984 I joined the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy for Sheriff George Martin. I had the privilege of serving under Sheriff Martin until his retirement in 1987. I continued to serve for retired Sheriff Jim Hamilton and now current Sheriff Jim Faull.
While having a full time career in Law enforcement I have served the county as a member of the Prowers County Fair Board for several years and continuing to do so with starting a new term of another 3 years, I have been an active member of the Lamar Elks Lodge #1319 for 24 years and currently serving another term as a trustee, I’m also a member of the Lamar Eagles Aerie and a Life member of the NRA. I have served as a past President of the Lamar Babe Ruth board and was a member of the Lamar Booster Club.
I have made a career out of serving the Prowers County residents as a Deputy Sheriff for 29 years and would like to continue to do so as the next Sheriff of Prowers County.
