At 7:45 am on November 2, fire personnel were dispatched to a CO detector activation located at 410 North 12th Street in Lamar. Fire crew checked the house with a gas analyzer and it read zero throughout the house. The CO detector was removed, inspected, and determined to likely be faulty. Atmos Energy was called to confirm that no CO was present.
At 11:50 am on November 2, fire personnel were dispatched to 307 North 1st Street in Lamar on report of a gas leak. Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found that the gas meter in the alley between North 1st and 2nd Street behind 307 North 1st had been hit by a vehicle. The meter had broken off at the supply side of the line. The valve was intact and fire crew members were able to shut the gas off. Atmos Energy was on the scene before fire crews had cleared it.
At 3:20 pm on November 2, fire crews were dispatched to a reported gas leak located at 407 South 1st Street in Lamar. Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found that the gas meter behind 407 South 1st had been hit and the supply side of the meter was broken above the shut off valve. The gas was shut off at the valve.
At 5:43 pm on November 2, fire personnel were dispatched to a reported gas leak located at 1502 South 10th Street in Lamar. Upon arrival, the occupant notified fire crew that she was mowing the yard and hit a valve with her mower which knocked the top of the valve off. Fire personnel plugged the pipe in the yard. Atmos Energy was on scene as the fire crew was clearing it.
