Monday, November 25
At 12:14 pm on November 25, fire crews were dispatched to 1202 South 5th Street in Lamar on report of a cooking fire. Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found no outward signs of fire. The smoke detector was present and in working order. The fire was contained within the oven and was out upon the arrival of the fire crew. The house was ventilated by opening windows and doors.
At 5:45 pm on November 25, fire personnel were dispatched to an alarm sounding at 2208 Memorial Drive in Lamar. Upon arrival, they found no outward signs of fire. Upon investigation, fire crew found that the CO detector was chirping and determined that the battery was low and needed to be replaced. The alarm was restored.
At 9:07 pm on November 25, fire personnel were dispatched to 8209 Sunset Ridge in Lamar for a smoke scare or possible furnace fire. They found no outward signs of fire upon arrival. Smoke detectors were present but did not alert the resident. The resident called 911 when she noticed a burning smell in the house. Fire crew investigated the furnace while the resident called Parker Heating. Fire personnel remained with the resident until Dave Parker arrived.
