At 7:58 pm on Saturday, June 15, Lamar Fire personnel were dispatched to a power line down at 1606 S. 11th Street in Lamar. Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found that the power line from the pole had come loose. The house power line was sitting on the secondary TV line and was not sparking but resting on the TV wire. Lamar Light and Power was notified and fire personnel stayed on scene until Light and Power had finished.
At 6:08 pm on Saturday, June 15, Lamar Fire personnel were dispatched to a fire alarm at 1106 Parkview Avenue in Lamar. Upon arrival, fire personnel found no signs of a fire. The occupant was found in the residence and stated she was cooking hamburger and it had burned. Windows were opened for ventilation and fire personnel returned to service.
At 10:00pm on Saturday, June 15, Lamar Fire personnel were dispatched to a fire alarm at 1301 N. Main Street in Lamar. Fire personnel were called to Cow Palace Inn for a possible fire. During investigation, it was found that the front desk was advised to call 911 by the occupant of Room 356. No fire was found and the occupant of Room 356 stated they did not make a 911 call.
