Granada Hosts Second Annual National Night Out

Granada Police Chief David Dougherty has invited the Granada community to tonight’s, (August 2) National Night Out Observance.  This will mark the 28^th year the national event has been observed.

The evening in Granada begins at 6:30pm in the Town Park with a free meal for all Granada community residents.  You may want to bring an umbrella this evening, as there’s a 40% chance of some thunderstorm activity later tonight.

Dougherty said this is an opportunity for the community to learn more about home security and safety and a chance for people to get to know their neighbors.  Local community awareness for neighborhood residents is a central platform for the National Night Out campaign.

It is widely observed, as last year, 37 million people in 15,110 communities in all 50 states took part.
