Join the Free Come Alive Outside Challenge

Southeast Area—Bent County 4-H has partnered with Come Alive Outside (CAO) challenge in an effort to get our community members out moving. The Bent County 4-H Council is hosting a 1.5 mile run/walk and 50 yard dash contest on Friday, August 1 at the Jack La Salle Field also commonly known as the Las Animas High School football field and track in Las Animas, Colo. Registration is completely free and first 500 people that sign by Thursday, July31 up will receive a free water bottle. Registration is open to ages 5-105. The 50 yard dash is for ages 5-13 and the 1.5 mile run/walk is set for ages 14-105. To register for the challenge go the Bent County Fairgrounds and sign up at the 4-H Council concession stand. Registration will be available from 4-6 p.m. Monday, July 28 through Thursday, July 31. The challenge will begin at 7 a.m. Friday, August 1 with check-in followed by the 1.5 mile run/walk at 7:15 a.m. and the 50 yard dash begins at 7:45 a.m.
The CAO challenge partner 4-H, FFA and local businesses in an effort to identify, plan, partner and complete a community initiative to motivate community members to be active outside. Bent County 4-H Council wanted to focus on the healthy living portion of the challenge. Bent is currently in partnership with the local Four Rivers dealership.
“We have been very fortunate to have a partner like Four Rivers in this challenge. We want to encourage everyone to pursue a healthy lifestyle and our August 1 activity will be a great way to be outside.”
