(Lamar, Colorado; January 29, 2014) The Career and Transfer Center at Lamar Community College will hold a grand opening ceremony and open house on Thursday, February 6, 2014.
The Career and Transfer Center is a place where students and the local community can receive assistance in finding the right career choice along with directing students into the correct degree plan at a four-year university. These services are available at no cost to area residents and students.
Businesses in the area are encouraged to contact the center to post position announcements. The center will notify appropriate LCC departments meeting the position requirements. The goal of the Career and Transfer Center is to maintain a collaborative working relationship with agencies, businesses, and schools in the surrounding area.
The Career and Transfer Center open house will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 9:30am to 2:30 pm. The grand opening ceremony will take place at 11:00am. The new Career and Transfer Center is located on the first floor in the Bowman Building.
Students from Joseph Shields’ Intro to Marketing class are hosting the event and will be on site to help answer questions about LCC’s business department during the open house and grand opening.
