Dig Into Reading – Summer Reading Program Top Readers Announced

The Lamar Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, “DIG into Reading” came to a close on Monday evening, July 22, with an awards ceremony and swim party. 265 pre-school thru 5th graders were registered for the program and total number of hours read was 3,168.
Top Readers were:
Team Chipmunk – 51 reading logs
1st Place – Dianeyd Lopez (88 hours)
2nd Place – Sam Hillman (72 hours)
Team Frog – 105 reading logs
1st Place – Eric Villela (128 hours)
2nd Place – Joseph Moore (104 hours)
Team Opossum – 60 reading logs
1st Place – Casie Minton (96 hours)
2nd Place – Joy Klippert (80 hours)
Team Porcupine – 60 reading logs
1st Place – Kandyce Appel (88 hours)
2nd Place – Wyatt Sheaves (60 hours)
Team Rabbit – 51 reading logs
1st Place – Brandon Martinez (72 hours)
2nd Place (tie) – Elexia Gonzales (48 hours) & Katelyn Felan (48 hours)
Team Skunk – 69 reading logs
1st Place – Erin Minton (96 hours)
2nd Place (tie) – Lucas Martinez (72 hours) & Christiana Montanez (72 hours)
