On May 28th the majority of Lamar Community College’s summer courses will begin. The schedule of courses offers a wide variety of online and on-campus options for traditional students, adults, and lifelong learners.

Students seeking an Associate of Arts or Science degree can complete a humanities requirement by taking Art Appreciation (ART 110) this summer. Those needing to meet social and behavioral science requirements may take General Psychology (PSY 101); Human Growth & Development (PSY 235); or Principles of Microeconomics (ECO 202).

Students who are preparing for nursing school can also take prerequisite courses this summer. They include: Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II (BIO 201 & 202); Microbiology (BIO 204); English Composition I (ENG 121); Introductory Algebra (MAT 090): and Human Growth & Development (PSY 235).

Lamar Community College’s IT Academy has 13 courses scheduled for this summer including: Word Processing I, II, and III; PC Spreadsheets I and II; and Desktop Publishing.

Those seeking a Nail Tech Certificate must do so during the summer as the courses are not offered during the fall or spring semesters. Students with an interest in LCC’s Cosmetology program are advised to begin their coursework during the summer semester to earn their nail certificate first.
