City of Lamar – Memorial Day Schedules

MEMORIAL DAY

PUBLIC NOTICE NEWS RELEASE

All City offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013 in observance of Memorial Day. The Community Building will also be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013. The Public Library will be open Saturday, May 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be closed Sunday, May 26th and Monday, May 27th in observance of the holiday. All City offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

Residential and commercial refuse collection will be collected as normally scheduled for Monday, May 27th. Please have containers in place by 6:00 a.m.

The City Landfill will be open on Saturday, May 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Municipal Landfill will be open on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Transfer Station area will be open Saturday, May 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 26th from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – only for the Free Weekend.

NOTICE – this is a free weekend at the City Landfill and Transfer Station for City residents only.

Memorial Day decorations at Fairmount and Riverside Cemeteries can be put out at noon on Thursday, May 23rd but need to be picked-up by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013.

Lamar Public Swimming Pool will open on Saturday, May 25th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Pool will also be open Sunday, May 26th and Monday, May 27th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will begin regular hours of operation on Tuesday, May 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
