Area seniors took advantage of the Healthy Aging, Fall Health Fair this past Wednesday, October 17, at the Lamar Community Resource and Senior Center on East Olive Street.
Several tables were set up, including the first one to greet visitors at the Center, for their flu shots. The four hour health fair offered core health exams including blood testing, a thyroid test, prostate antigen, and pneumonia shots along with the available flu vaccine.
There were additional services provided at no charge, such as lipid/good & bad cholesterol screenings, blood pressure exams, pulse oximetry screenings, body mass index, tests for strength and balance, as well as hearing screenings.
The senior health fair was sponsored by Prowers Medical Center, Lamar Community Resource and Senior Center, Prowers County Public Health & Environment, Juniper Village and Digicare Hearing Solutions.
For those who missed their flu shots at the health fair, others have been scheduled for afternoon hours at the County Annex on East Cedar Street, Wednesdays from October 24 to November 28. Call for more information at 719-336-8721
