Highway 287 Project Shut Down for Season
CHEYENNE COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has suspended the U.S. 287 concrete panel replacement project between Kit Carson and Eads for the winter.
“All of the main work to remove and replace concrete panels south of Kit Carson is complete”, said CDOT Resident Engineer Paul Westhoff. “However, we do have some remaining work that needs to be completed in that area, including the sawing and sealing of the joints and grinding any rough sections of the new panels. In addition, the contractor will be doing some surface grinding on U.S. 50, just west of Lamar, in the spring.”
The project is scheduled to resume in April 2012.
