Go for the Cold! Ice Cream at Willow Creek Park

When the thermometer reads 104 degrees, it becomes difficult to note that autumn is only four weeks away by the calendar, September 23, 2011 to be precise.

Few Lamar residents were thinking fall this past Thursday evening for the annual Lamar Chamber of Commerce Ice Cream Social at Willow Creek Park. It’s still one of the best ways to put a wrap on our summer season…several dips of homemade ice cream and then a free dip in the Lamar Pool. Despite the free gallons of summer’s sweet treat being served up, the LiveWell Group from High Plains Community Health Center attracted a healthy gathering at their tent, showing the importance of a balanced diet.
