- VFW Color Guard in Granada
Monday’s rains stayed away this past weekend to give a picture-perfect day for events surrounding the 20th Annual Granada/Bristol Days, from the Friday evening BBQ and auctions, to the open air dance this past Saturday.
Following a breakfast at Chez DuVall’s and a calorie burning exercise for the Amache Run/Walk, folks started lining up at the Granada High School for the 10am parade. This year’s event featured a VFW honor guard, members of the Prowers County Republican Party, Granada cheerleaders, kids on all kinds of vehicles, from bikes to scooters and electric cars, antique vehicles, fire department trucks and several horseback riders brought up the rear. The procession wound its way through the community to the town park where vendors were on hand with food and crafts. The Granada Alumni reception was held at the high school, followed by a banquet and open air dance.
