Gary E. Turner…March 20, 1948 – January 11, 2016

A Service of Celebration for former Lamar resident, currently of Oklahoma City, OK Gary Eugene Turner will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Peacock Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Section of Fairmount Cemetery under the auspices of the Lamar VFW Post #3621.  

Visitation for Gary will be held from 1:00PM until 4:00PM on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Peacock Family Chapel. 

Gary was born of March 20, 1948 in Colby, Kansas to Harry and Zuella (Headley) Turner and passed away following his courageous battle with cancer on January 11, 2016 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Mr. Turner is preceded in death by his parents; brother; Harold Turner and two infant sons, Michael and Gary Jr. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Harrington Turner of the family home in Oklahoma City, OK, daughters Michele “Chelley” (Scott) Brase of Lamar and Connie Turner of Oklahoma and one son Justin (Joy) Turner of Sand Springs, OK. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild Adaleigh Michele and his sisters, Lana (Ed) McKean of Sapulpa, OK and Janice (Tom) Watrous of Broken Arrow, OK. 

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Denver Fisher House Foundation direct or in care of the funeral home office. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Funeral Home.
