Eloise Cornelius…April 2, 1944 – January 17, 2016

A Memorial Service for longtime Lamar resident Anna Eloise Cornelius affectionately known as Eloise by her family and friends will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Peacock Funeral Home with Ian Blacker officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date.  

For those attending the services, Eloise’s special instructions were for everyone to wear their favorite sports attire. 

Per Eloise’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public viewing. 

Eloise was born on April 2, 1944 in Sheridan Lake to William “Bill” and Lillie L. (Harris) Groomer and passed away on January 17, 2016 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 71. 

She is surived by her sons James (Cindy) Egley of Wiley and Dominick Miller of Lakin, KS. Also surviving are her grandchildren; J.C. Egley of Springfield, MO, Heidi (Dan) Ferris of Falcon, CO, Andrew Egley of Lamar; great grandchildren Aaralyn, Kaiden, Alyxx and Aurora. Ed (Ina) Groomer of Wiley, Lewis (Betty) Groomer of Arkansas, Margaret (Randy) Richardson as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends also survive. 

Eloise is preceded in death by her husband “Gerb” Cornelius, parents and her siblings; Ralph Groomer, Tillie Kinter, Gladys Miller and Darlene Culberth. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eloise Cornelius Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
