How to Use Them: LUV BUCKS 101

chamber-website-web

Luv Bucks are a special community currency developed by the Lamar Chamber of Commerce to promote our local economy. When your dollars are spent locally, nearly 70% of that money will remain within our local economy.

Doing business locally supports not only the place where your dollar is spent but also the city itself and the financial health of our community.  Luv Bucks work exactly like cash and all members of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce accept Luv Bucks for payment.

Luv Bucks may only be deposited into a bank account through a business.  Individuals cannot deposit them or redeem them for cash – these dollars are meant to be spent locally with Chamber Member businesses.  You can access a list of Chamber Members on the Chamber of Commerce website www.lamarchamber.com or by requesting a list at the Lamar Chamber of Commerce office at 109A East Beech Street, next to the Welcome Center. The Chamber of Commerce is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m..

Luv Bucks come in increments of $5, $20, and $50, and we encourage the spender to utilize the entire value of the Luv Bucks when making their purchase.  Businesses that are not active members may also accept Luv Bucks, at their discretion.  Businesses are to redeem the value of this special currency by depositing Luv Bucks in their normal bank deposits.

If you wish to purchase Luv Bucks to give as a gift, they can be purchased at the Chamber office.  The Lamar Chamber of Commerce will close for the holidays on December 24th and reopen on Monday, January 4th.  There will be a list of Chamber Members available at the Welcome Center during our holiday closure.

The Lamar Chamber of Commerce would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday filled with joy, health, and prosperity.
