Richard Powers…May 24, 1956 – November 22, 2015

Memorial Services for Richard “Rick” Powers will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas, Colorado.

Richard, affectionately known to most as “Rick” Powers, was born on May 24, 1956 to Jess H. and Wilma J. (Dodson) Powers in La Junta, Colorado and passed away on November 22, 2015 at his home in Las Animas, Colorado.

Rick was a very hard working family man known to all the neighborhood children only as “Dad”. He served our country in the United States Navy beginning in his senior year of High School. Rick loved the simple things in life, as well as football, being outdoors, camping, hiking, and was an avid fisherman. Most of all, Rick loved his family and the time that he shared with them.

Rick is survived by his son, Taylor Powers; daughter, Lavendar Robishaw; sister, Linda Ricken; step-father, Santos Gonzales; granddaughter, Adalyn Robishaw; niece, Whitney Powers; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Powers and Wilma Gonzales; and brothers, C.A. Powers, Leon Powers, and Louis Gonzales.
