Sherri Becker, Director of HOPE Center Helping Hands, offered some updated information on the clothes distribution center that has been in operation since this past February, located in the south wing of the former Lincoln School on North 10th Street.

“Our next opening date will be Saturday, November 21st from 9am to 11am,” she said, adding that the December opening date will be different, the second Saturday on December 12th, instead of the usual third Saturday of the month.

She stated that the people she has been serving have been amazing and very thankful for the clothes the Center offers to local residents. Becker added that the volunteers have very dedicated in their efforts to keep the shelves stocked and sorted.  She said that right now, the Center is over-flowing with donations, so they are not taking any more clothes at this time, but will still accept new socks and underwear in kid’s sizes as they go out as fast as they come in.  At this point, she continued, the Center is averaging from 80 to 90 people a month.
