A Celebration of Life for Charles Ray Fuqua will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Holly United Methodist Church in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Eugene Birt officiating.

Charlie, as he was known by his family and friends, was born June 16, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Charles Otho and Lou Ellen (Lamar) Fuqua.  Charles Ray Fuqua of Lake George, CO previously of Sheridan Lake, CO departed this life on July 16, 2015 in Colorado Springs, CO at the age of 70 with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side.

Charlie grew up and attended school in Paradise, TX and graduated from Paradise High School Obitin 1959. He moved to Fort Worth, TX where he met and married Billie Carolyn Mann on October 15, 1962. Within this union 2 daughters, Vanise and Sheila were born and one son, Wesley, who died in infancy.

Charlie married Christine Clark on October 15, 1977. A step daughter, Angela, was welcomed into the family and another daughter, Lindsey, was born within this union.

Charlie worked in the heating/air conditioning profession. He owned his own business for many years until his love for the outdoors, horses, cattle, and open space took him in a new direction. He moved to Colorado with his family in 1983 to work on a ranch. He enjoyed taking his girls to rodeos and helping them with their 4H animals. He also worked for Kiowa Oil in Sheridan Lake, CO and met many lifelong friends while living and working there. He had always dreamed of living in the mountains so in he purchased his little piece of heaven and moved his family to Lake George, CO. He returned to the heating/air conditioning business and worked for Tyler Refrigeration until his retirement in 2007. He was truly a man of many talents. He could fix and build just about anything. He loved to debate politics. If you have ever been in a debate with Charlie, you know you could never win. He was always right! He was a true cowboy! He loved his family and his friends. If you were one of the lucky ones that he called “friend” you could count on him. He was so proud of his girls and loved them and his grandchildren beyond measure.

He is survived by his wife Christine Fuqua of Lake George, CO; daughters Vanise (Tom) Trengen of Parker, CO, Sheila (Monty) Nordyke of Holly, CO, Lindsey (Matt) Fuqua of Lake George, CO and step-daughter Angela Gordon also of Lake George, CO; grandchildren Matthew (Nancy) Davis and Cody Ferrel of Santa Barbara, CA, Amanda Ferrel and Charlie Ferrel of Kiowa, CO, Raelyn (Tom) Dunagan, Hayden Nordyke and Brendyn Nordyke of Holly, CO, and Taylor and Peyton Richie of Lake George, CO; great grandchildren Davy Pasicznyk and July Dunagan; and niece Louette Eudaly of Odessa, TX.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Charles Wesley Fuqua, and his only sibling, a sister, Dorotha Fuqua.
