Cruz Ibarra…May 3, 1935 – June 17, 2015

A mass of Christian burial for longtime Granada resident, Cruz Ibarra will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday June 23, 2015 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar.  A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 10:00 AM also at the Catholic Church.  Father Charlie Sena will officiate the service.

Visitation for Cruz will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday June 22, 2015 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar and prior to the Rosary and Mass at the church.

Cruz was born on May 3, 1935 in Victoria, Coahuila, Mexico to Lucas and Calixta (Ontiveros) Ibarra and departed this life on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at her home in Granada at the age of 80.

Cruz was preceded in death by her parents; by three children – Hilda Gonzales, Margaret Gonzales, and Georgann Licon; by four sisters – Nacha Ibarra, Teresa Ibarra, Hortencia Terrazas, and Lydia Lopez; as well as by two grandchildren.

Cruz Ibarra is survived by eight children- Albert (Charlotte) Gonzales of Pueblo; Andres (Shirley) Gonzales of Denver; Greg Gonzales of Denver; Daniel (Cathy) Gonzales of Colorado Springs; Nancy (Mark) Campos of Pueblo; Donna (Jose) Gonzales of Florida; Sarah (Victor) Ortiz of Granada; and Jessie Silva of Kansas City, KS; by 30 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and by five siblings – Raul (Alice Mae) Ibarra; Ruldolpho Ibarra; Beatrice (Dusty) Whitehead; Jerry (Angie) Ibarra; and Teresa (Terry) McGee; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
