James “Red” Heath Scholarship Winner Announced

FarmBureauVectorProwers County Farm Bureau is pleased to announce the recipient of its James “Red” Heath scholarship for high school seniors in Prowers County

To be eligible for the scholarships, high school seniors filled out an application and submitted it to the Prowers County Farm Bureau.  On the application the seniors included a list of their hobbies, organizations that they belonged to, and awards or recognition that they have received.  They were also asked to describe their future goals and write an essay of at least 100 words describing what they feel is good and bad about agriculture in the United States.  The essay also included a description of how they could improve agriculture in the future.

Receiving the $500 scholarship from Prowers County Farm Bureau is Colby Salisbury of Lamar High School.

Colby is a member of FFA, National Honor Society, and has participated in Knowledge Bowl. He is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has participated in football, basketball & baseball.

Colby will attend the University of Wyoming in Laramie this fall.  He plans to major in animal science while at UW with a goal of enrolling in the Veterinary School at Colorado State University.
