Memorial services for Loren R. Hovet will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Eugene Birt officiating.  Per Loren’s request, cremation has taken place.

Loren Ray Hovet was born on February 9, 1963 in Cook, Minnesota to Herbert and Virginia (Taylor) Hovet.  He passed away on April 17, 2015 at Vali Assisted Living in Westcliffe, Colorado at the age of 52.

Loren was married shortly after graduating from high school.  Two sons were born to that union.  Loren enjoyed farming and was an avid hunter.  At the age of 24, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.  Loren continued to farm and work until his illness became worse.  He then had to give up his love of working.  In 1999 Loren underwent Deep Brain Surgery in Boston which extended his life by years.  In 2009, he went to live with his sister, Anna Lee until just a few months before his death.

Loren is survived by his son, Chad Hovet and wife, Andrea; grandchildren, Conner and Lincoln all of  Pueblo West, CO; and his son, Alex Hovet and wife, Cassandra; grandchildren, Liam and Lila all of Pueblo, CO; sisters, Anna Lee Crum of Cotopaxi, CO and Judith Mikeska and husband, Glen of Fayetteville, TX; brothers, Jim Hovet and wife, Jean of Grand Junction, CO and Leighton Hovet and wife, Peggy of Pueblo, CO; nieces, Lacey Cathcart LeMay and husband, Gary of Wichita, KS and AmyJo Anderson and husband, Chris of Georgetown, TX; nephews, Adam Cathcart and wife, Wylee of Holly, CO, Joshua Flye and wife, Melissa of Alaska, Brandon Hovet and wife, Bobbie of Brighton, CO, Nathan Hovet of Pueblo, CO, Wilbur Andif and wife, Mindy of Filt, CO, Wesley “Buster” Hovet and wife, Becki of Fruita, CO; one aunt, Charlotte Walby of Pueblo, CO; many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Virginia Hovet; nephew, Allen “Smiley” Hovet.
