A Memorial Service for longtime Lamar resident Gerald Zollars will be held at 2:00PM Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Lamar Crosswinds Church of the Nazarene, 7th and Pearl, with Eugene Birt officiating. An inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Per Gerald’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Gerald was born on December 21, 1924 at Ft. Morgan to Lawrence C. and Anna K. (Madsen) Zollars and passed away on April 14, 2015 at his home in Lamar with family at his side at the age of 90.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Joy Zollars, who passed away one month ago, his parents and siblings; Marjarie Pedersen, Rowene Hall, Rosetta Carwin and Eleanor Zollars.
Gerald is survived by his children: Janet Gottschalk of Lamar, Gayle (Freddie) George of Thornton, Dee Zollars of Ft. Morgan, Gene (Sandy) Zollars of Lamar, Carol Ybarra of Pueblo, Alan Zollars of Lamar as well as Kay (Jack) Cook and Jay (Bich) Hall both of Brush and Gloria (Greg Dahms) Hall of Lakewood. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, sisters; Delores Wecker of Lewisville, JoAnn (Willard) Bowers of Anton, Twyla Blake of Brush, Nina Baker of Grand Junction and Gail Henry of Ft. Morgan as well as numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
