A Memorial Service for longtime Lamar resident Joy L. Zollars will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Lamar Crosswinds Church of the Nazarene, 7th and Pearl, with Mrs. Zollars’ nephew Ken Blake officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Per Joy’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Joy was born on January 4, 1931 at Brush, Colorado to Harry and Mable (Day) Funk and passed away on March 14, 2015 at her home in Lamar with family at her side. Joy was 84.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; Orville and Kenneth Funk.
Joy is survived by her husband Gerald of the family home and her children: Janet Gottschalk of Lamar, Gayle (Freddie) George of Thornton, Dee Zollars of Ft. Morgan, Gene (Sandy) Zollars of Lamar, Carol Ybarra of Pueblo, Alan Zollars of Lamar as well as Kay (Jack) Cook and Jay (Bich) Hall both of Brush and Gloria Hall and husband Greg Dahms of Lakewood. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
