Janice S. Spitz…October 27, 1938 – March 16, 2015

A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Janice S. Spitz, affectionately known to her family and friends as Sue, will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ian Blacker of the Lamar Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.  Visitation for Sue will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Sue was born on October 27, 1938 at Hope, Arkansas to Delbert Weice and Geraldine Rhea (McCullough) Nelson and passed away on March 16, 2015 at Prowers Medical Center with her family by her side at the age of 76.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother; Carl E. Nelson.

Sue is survived by her husband, Joe D. Spitz of the family home in Lamar, daughters; Frankie Nichols and Sandy Spitz all of Lamar, former son-in-law; Mark Murphy of Lamar, grandchildren; Brandy (Leo Moreno) Nichols, Brianna (J.R. Cooper) Nichols and Daylon (Andrea Duffy) Spitz and great-grandchildren; Isaac Moreno, Jazelle Moreno, Keenan Moreno, Jaqueline Cooper, Preston Cooper and Thayden Moreno. She is also survived by her siblings; D.W. Nelson, Barbara Jenkins, Linda Scoggins and James O. Nelson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends also survive.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.   Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
