A Pirate Party was held for the benefit of Lamar Area Hospice on Saturday, February 28, 2015 and hosted by the Buzzard’s Roost. The idea came from former Telluride resident, Joe Malecki.

Jay Gruber and Karen Moreno of Buzzard’s Roost contacted the Hospice Fundraising Committee and the event was organized with many silent auction items donated by Lamar’s local retailers as well as Colorado Rockies tickets donated by Mike Flower. There were numerous cash donations.

John Hernandez put his hair up for auction and his hair was cut bringing in significant bids. The event was a huge success and a check in the amount of $9,000.00 was donated to Lamar Area Hospice.
