A Memorial Mass for longtime Lamar resident; Amelia Franco will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Charlie Sena as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM at the church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting.
Per Amelia’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.
Amelia was born on November 25, 1917 at Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Juan and Teresa (Espinoza) Gallegos and passed away on February 10, 2015 at her home in Lamar at the age of 97.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Isaac J. Franco, son; Gabriel Franco, parents, and her siblings; Pete Gallegos, Monico “Bill” Gallegos, Jack Gallegos, Tony Gallegos, Raymond Gallegos, Jenny Sanchez, Martha Kimble and Benny Abitia.
Amelia is survived by her daughters; Clara (Charles) Bradburn of Lamar and Priscilla Alice “Bonnie” Foy of Colorado Springs, CO, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; Cheri Aguilera of Lamar, CO, James Foy of Denver, CO, Alisa Nicholi of Spokane, WA, David Franco of Spokane WA, Daniella Franco of Everett, WA and Aaron Franco of Tucson, AZ, five great-great-grandsons, four great-grandsons and one great-great grandson, one month old Sawyer Aquilera and a daughter-in-law; Shirley Franco of Spokane, WA. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends also survive.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
