A long list of area groups and agencies benefitted this holiday season from the 27th Annual SECPA and SECOM Charity Golf Tournament conducted in La Junta and Rocky Ford this past July.
One of the tournament organizers, Ron Reedy from SECPA, said, “We had a good turn out this year with 15 men’s teams playing in La Junta and a separate course for 10 ladies’ teams on the Rocky Ford Golf Course.” He added, “Lamar, La Junta, Springfield and Eads organizations, all get donations,” from the annual tournament. He added that over $10,000 was raised this year, which means the various organizations were able to receive a larger donation.
Reedy said SECPA’s fiber company, SECOM, joined in the annual event this year. He added that a lot of vendors helped contribute to the tournament and raising funds through their donations. Some organizations received their donation earlier and were not included in the photograph. SECPA and SECOM made donations to:
Five Loaves Pantry in McClave, Holly Ministerial Food Pantry, Care Net Pregnancy Center, Partners for HOPE, Lamar Area Hospice, Sparrow House Food Pantry, Lamar Rural Fire Department, Holly Fire Department, Hasty-McClave Fire Department, Wiley Fire Department and Granada Fire Department.
