Wayne Mendenhall…August 23, 1928 – November 19, 2014

A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Wayne Mendenhall will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00PM on Monday at the Walsh Cemetery in Walsh, Colorado.

Visitation for Wayne will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Wayne was born on August 23, 1928 at Bentonville, Arkansas to Fred and Sally Mendenhall and passed away on November 19, 2014 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 86.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Mendenhall, three brothers, one sister and his great-grandson.

Wayne is survived by his wife; Marjorie “Marge” Mendenhall of the family home in Lamar, children; Alan (Enia) Mendenhall of Denver, CO, Lorna (Richard) Monson of Lamar, Annett (Buck) Malerba of Las Vegas, NV, Eric Mendenhall of Denver, CO, Fonda (Raymond) Berndt of Commerce City, CO, Milton (Lisa) Mendenhall of Lamar, Donna (Kenny) Birt of Great Bend, KS, step-children; Bonnie (Ed) Ervin of Ft. Garland, CO, Geo. “Bud” (Nancy) Hutchison of Security, CO and Linda (Mark) Bagley of Holly, CO. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
