Funeral services for Pueblo, CO resident, Adalyn Mitchell will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Church of Christ in La Junta, CO.  Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December  1, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta, CO.

Adalyn Mitchell was born in Trinidad, Colorado on May 6, 1925 to Herbert Howard Isom and Ada Edna Ellis. She passed from this life on November 23, 2014 in Colorado Springs, CO, surrounded by her children.

Adalyn was a homemaker and praised by her family as a truly worthy woman as described in Proverbs 31. She was an outstanding seamstress, winning prizes at county fairs wherever she lived, including the blue ribbon for the last dress she will ever wear. Adalyn raised four children as a preacher’s wife, edited copy in the family newspaper, and worked in insurance offices in New Mexico, New York City, and Colorado. She became an insurance agent with the Otero Savings in La Junta, CO.

Adalyn was baptized into Christ in Hot Springs (now known as, Truth or Consequences), New Mexico, and was “faithful until death”.  She was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Pueblo, CO when she passed away.

Adalyn also enjoyed being NOEIN a “YL” of the Amateur Radio Club in the Arkansas Valley.

She is survived by her husband of almost 29 years, Lawrence Mitchell of Las Animas, CO; her four children, Ernie Graham of La Junta, CO, Tobey Nickels of Pueblo, CO, Donna Wygal of Searcy, Arkansas, and Chris Graham of Fort Worth, TX; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren from her first marriage to Harry Graham; and fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren from her marriage to Lawrence Mitchell.

Adalyn was preceded in death by her first husband of over thirty years, Earnest ”Harry” Graham; three sisters; one brother; son-in-law, Paul Martin; stepson, Howard Mitchell; and three grandchildren, Tayla, Tony, and Andy.
