Johnny Dave Lopez…April 2, 1953 – October 14, 2014

Graveside memorial services for Johnny D. Lopez will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Fort Lyon National Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado.

Johnny Dave Lopez was born on April 2, 1953 in Limon, Colorado to Louis and Marie Lopez.  He passed away on October 14, 2014 at his home in Las Animas at the age of 61.

Johnny attended school in Rocky Ford.  After graduating from high school he enlisted in the military.  He lived in Hawaii before moving to Texas where he lived for several years.  When his health began to fail he moved to Las Animas to be closer to family.

He is survived by his sons, Johnny “Tuffy” Lopez and Richard “Ricky” Lopez of Colorado Springs; siblings, Robert Lopez of Ordway, CO, Linda (Michael) Nicholl of Las Animas, Louis (Angela) Lopez Jr. of Paonia, CO, and Lori Garza of Las Animas; significant other, Midori Winges of Minnesota; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rachel Reyes.
