Lots of costumed youngsters and some adults came to town in Lamar Thursday evening, October 30, for the traditional Moonlight event, a combination of fun, candy, bargains and bargain hunters.
Doors opened on South Main Street in Lamar at 5pm for the Treat Street Event at the former Crafter’s Corner, as adults dressed as some of their favorite cartoon characters or familiar monsters. You could see anything or anyone from Sailor Moon to a gorilla passing out bananas to the kids…plenty of witches, some of whom were showing off their sparkly blue hair!
Participants roamed up and down Main Street in search of the types of cats that were represented in participating stores, attempting to match cats to the ones listed on their registration list. Drawings for prizes were held at the evening’s close.
The fun isn’t over as a Friday Trunk or Treat evening will begin at 5pm at the Lamar Library and that is the final night of the Haunted House at 210 West Elm Street. A special kid’s showing will begin at 5:30pm. The proceeds will help pay for the costs associated with the annual 4th of July fireworks event in Lamar.
