Lamar, CO – The Lamar Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome two (2) new Directors: Patricia Macias, Business Office Manager at Juniper Village at Lamar and Chris Frost, Editor of the Lamar Ledger. Both have agreed to finish out the 2014 calendar year serving our Chamber Membership and bringing their talents to the remaining events of the year.
Patricia Macias is a 20 year resident of Lamar and will bring her accounting and planning skills to the Board of Directors. Patricia states, “I am invested in this community and I want to become more involved in the community and its residents.” We welcome Chris Frost back to our community after his hiatus as a journalist in California and we look forward to watching Frost put his reporting expertise to work keeping our community informed. Frost states, “My pledge is to continue my work to do everything possible to serve such a great community.”
Planning is underway for several Lamar Chamber of Commerce upcoming events: Oktoberfest (October 4); Farm/City Banquet (November 15) featuring the entertainment talent of Baxter Black – tickets are on sale now; Parade of Lights (December 5); and, Holiday Basketball Tournament (December 18-20). The Chamber is also working on a revitalization project for the Enchanted Forest, starting a Member to Member Benefit program, sharing a new monthly Chamber Newsletter with our membership, and preparing for the 2015 elections.
The 2015 Elections for the Chamber will begin next month. “We need to fill four (4) open chairs with new Directors and we are actively seeking area business leaders that are dedicated to keeping our Chamber of Commerce strong, active and innovative. Our Directors serve a term of three (3) years and must be committed to serving our membership,” states President, Lisa Thomas. “Patty and Chris will be a great asset to our team as we work hard over these final months of the year.”
