Charles Ramsey…March 26, 1929 – September 20, 2014

Funeral services for Charles “Chuck’ Ramsey will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Las Animas, Colorado.  Interment will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. at Horber Funeral Chapel.

Charles Wendell Ramsey was born March 26, 1929 to Knowel and Katie (Crotchett) Ramsey in Las Animas, Colorado.  He graduated in 1947 from Bent County High School and in 1951 began a 5 year stint in the U.S. Army.  Upon his honorable discharge in 1956, Charles moved to Denver where he worked for the Denver Housing Authority.  He married Judith Ann Hisel on August 24, 1956.  They remained in Denver until his retirement in 1992.  He returned to Las Animas and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church. As his health declined he moved to Dayton, Washington to live with his son, Dewayne Ramsey and his family.  Charles passed into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior September 20, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy, and brothers Herbert, George and Donald.

Charles is survived by his sons, Dewayne and Jay; daughter, Jennifer; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
