Billy Covington…June 11, 1942 – September 26, 2014

Memorial services for longtime Lamar resident, Billy Covington will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker and Ray Matteson co-officiating.   Per Billy’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.

Billy was born on June 11, 1942 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lee Roy and Ruth Marie (Lewis) Covington and passed away on September 26, 2014 at the Holly Nursing Care Center with his family by his side at the age of 72.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jim Covington and sister; Mary Ann Mulinix.

Billy is survived by his wife; Mary Covington of the family home in Lamar, children; Michael (Starla) Covington, David Wayne Covington, Terri Lynn Covington all of California and Dave Covington of Lamar. He is also survived by two grandchildren, siblings; Joyce (Jerry) Butler of TN, Bob Covington of Las Animas, CO and Betty Covington of AR as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Billy Covington Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.

Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
