Colorado Parks and Wildlife Will Again Offer Two Buttes Outdoor Adventure

LAMAR, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife is once again offering families a chance to get outdoors and learn about firearms safety, hunting and outdoor survival. CPW is inviting families to join them for the Two Buttes Outdoor Adventure, a free two and a half day event, June 6 – 8 at the Two Buttes State Wildlife Area. Participants must register by May 23. Space is limited so sign up early.

Classes will include firearms safety, outdoor survival, hunting different types of big game, small game and waterfowl, as well as opportunities to shoot archery, muzzleloaders, shotguns and rifles. Classes begin late Friday afternoon and run through Sunday afternoon. Participants who wish may take the Hunter Safety Education test at the end of the event to get their Hunter Safety certification.

This event is designed for adults and children over the age of nine. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of nine may attend as part of a family, but may not be able to participate in some of the activities.

Meals will be provided Friday night and all day on Saturday. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sunday. A tent camping area will also be available for participants who want to bring a tent and stay.
