A Celebration of Life for former Lamar resident, currently of Rockmart, Georgia, Robert Dean Williams affectionately known as Bob to his family and friends will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Church of Christ with Kevin “Bon” May, Curtis Hartshorn and Fred Bozeman co-officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel and Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9:00AM until time of service at the Church of Christ.
Bob was born in Coolidge, Kansas to Aaron Robert Williams and Dema Faye Wright Williams on November 20, 1932 and passed away peacefully at home, Friday evening, April 25, 2014, after a short illness, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Bob was preceded in death by his seventeen year old son, Jamie Lee; his father, Aaron; mother, Dema; an infant brother, Ronald Wayne; and sister, Lois Janice Williams. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Kathy) of 53 years; his daughter, Leah Williams; brothers, Carroll of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Curtis (Linda) of Grass Valley, California; sister, Janet (Jim) Miller of Kearney, Nebraska; two brothers-in-law, Charles Sisco of Panama, Oklahoma, and Kenneth (Linda) Sisco, of Shady Point, Oklahoma; twenty-nine nieces and nephews; fifty-one great nieces and nephews; and sixteen great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a number of “borrowed grandchildren;” one uncle, Leonard (Harriet) Williams; and many cousins; and a host of friends, including one “Honorary Daughter,” Debbie Parrott of Atlanta.
