Who cares if Rudolph’s nose glows cherry red in fog.  How well does that thing work in dust?  Around 3:30pm the horizon north and west of Lamar, past the riverbed up on the far ridges, showed a line of wind driven dust.

The rolling clouds stretched along a wide path as it gathered steam and made its way into town, crossing over the Arkansas River, rolling past the airport and on, covering the outlying areas before it crossed over South 14th at Yucca, where this reporter found out that there was one more story to cover before calling it a day.

The National Weather Service out of Pueblo documented the change in weather in an hour by hour grid that doesn’t really explain what it’s like to be out in this stuff.  December 24, 2013 readings for Lamar:
