Wanted Person Apprehended

Shawn Lantis

On October 21, 2013 at approximately 1:00 P.M. officers responded to the 200 block of North 5th Street on a report of a wanted person being at a residence. The individual, Shawn Lantis, 40, had been avoiding apprehension for approximately two months.

Officers were able to contact Lantis in the backyard of the residence and after a brief struggle, Lantis was taken into custody. One officer sustained minor injuries to his chin as a result of being struck by Lantis during the struggle.

Lantis is being held at the Prowers County Jail on $1,128.00 for the warrants and an additional $6,000.00 bond for the charges during the struggle.
