John Martin Reservoir State Park Boat Inspection Hours Change

Colorado Parks Wildlife Logo - smHASTY, Colo. – Due to the current government shutdown, some of the Army Corps of Engineers’ seasonal employees will be unavailable for the last three weeks of the season. While this does not have any impact on the management of the state park or the reservoir, it will mean some changes for boaters.

The Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) inspection station will be adjusting the operating hours for the remainder of the season. The inspection station will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on most days. Some days there may not be an inspector at the station, but a qualified inspector will be on duty. If this happens, please contact the Visitor Center and our ranger staff will be more than happy to accommodate you during this temporary inconvenience.

Launching when both the Visitor’s Center and inspection station are closed is also possible with a pre-inspection. This can be done prior to launching when the station is open. A pre-inspection may also be attained from another water-based state park, reservoir, or Colorado Parks and Wildlife office.

The reservoir and inspection station will also be closed beginning Nov. 1 for waterfowl resting during hunting season.

Thank you for your cooperation during this time, and we look forward to seeing you in the great outdoors.
