The traditional Lamar Savage Homecoming parade along Main Street kicked off at 2pm, Friday, September 27. The visiting YAK airplanes for the annual Fly-In provided some additional excitement and entertainment with a special fly-over along the parade route as the students began their route to Savage Stadium.
Other events of the afternoon included the 5pm Tailgate party at Savage Stadium until 6:15. There were free hot dogs and hamburgers for the crowd. Following the game, the homecoming dance was held from 9pm to Midnight.
The weatherman cooperated enough through the afternoon, but some strong, chilly winds and occasional thunderstorm cooled off the evening for the game. The Lamar Savage team prevailed, defeating the visitors from Trinidad, 21 to 7.
